Pre-Ballot Notice for the Gaslamp City Square Property Owners’ Association
Thursday, April 29, 2021, Special Membership Meeting and Bylaw Amendment Vote (In Accordance with Corporations Code §7511)

To: Members of Gaslamp City Square Property Owners’ Association

A Special Meeting & Amendment Vote will be held at 5:15 PM on Thursday, April 29, 2021, via Zoom.

An official notice and ballot will be mailed to the membership at least 30 days prior to the scheduled meeting. Upon receipt of your election package, the ballots may be returned via mail in the included self-addressed envelopes to: The Inspectors of Election, P.O. Box 131778, Carlsbad, CA 92013 by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, April 28, 2021.

Water Shut-Off: 1/28/2021

On Thursday, January 28, 2021, the water for Phase I (450 J St) will need to be temporarily shut off to repair a leaking copper pipe located on the roof. This shut down is necessary to replace the pipe which has been temporarily patched. Please be aware that Phase I Residents will not have water from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Thursday, January 28th.

Management recommends that you take the necessary steps to plan for this temporary water shutoff. Avoid turning on fixtures or using water during the shutdown to help prevent air bubbles from entering into the system.

Fitness Center and Community Pool Reopening on June 12, 2020...with conditions!

The 3rd Floor Sundeck pool is reopening on Friday, June 12, 2020 as a part of the reopening plan of the State of California. The hot tub will remain closed under the new public health order. Social distancing is still required and face coverings are strongly encouraged. Sanitation wipes are available for you to clean your area. Please refer to the Important Notice of Regarding Assumption of Liability Relating to Communicable Diseases Including COVID-19 for more information on pool and fitness center usage. You are required to execute a Waiver and Release Agreement by written request to Management; even if you do not completed the Agreement, upon usage of the pool and fitness center, you are agreeing to hold the Association harmless.

3rd Floor Sundeck Vegetation Removal Project

Beginning April 29, 2020, the landscaping vegetation on the 3rd Floor Sundeck will be removed in partnership with ProTec Building Services. The removal will assist in the upcoming beautification plans to be determined by the Landscape Redesign Committee.

The removal will also assist in the location of the planter drains and the simultaneous Sundeck Waterproofing Analysis that is being conducted by Cornerstone Managing Partners. Please be mindful of the crews as they complete this project.


The 2020 Annual Meeting of the Membership of Gaslamp City Square Property Owners’ Association is scheduled for Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 3:15 P.M., tentatively to be held the 4th Floor Community Room.

Phase 1 Cooling Tower Support Refurbishment Project Update

At the April 23, 2020, the Board of Directors unanimously approved Cornerstone Managing Partners to be the construction management consulting firm to the assist Gaslamp City Square with the Phase 1 cooling towers supports refurbishment project. The partnership is expected to result in Cooling Tower 1’s needs being completed by mid-July 2020.

Election Rules Adoption

At the April 23, 2020 Open Session Meeting of the Board of Directors, the Board adopted the new Election Rules that incorporated changes in laws from the State of California. Operational changes were not performed and does not require for the Election Rules to be submitted to Owners for advance review. The new Election Rules along with the original edited version will be added to the Documents section of the Residential Portal.

We welcome visitors to view our website to learn about our unique open-air square, close-knit community that we like to call home. Gaslamp City Square is located at the epicenter of the Gaslamp Quarter just 1.5 blocks from Petco Park, 3 blocks from the San Diego Convention Center, and just a short walk away from a number of Downtown’s major landmarks.
